What is FATS?

FATS is time in 3rd gear that takes for and S4 b5 to accelerate from 4200 -6500rpm

This is specific to S4 b5 98-2002 01 transmission with 3rd gear ratio 1.231

Any other gear ratios do not translate into correct FATS.
As its popular to swich to RS4 gearbox which has 7% shorter 3rd gear, therefor getting faster FATS and bigger bragging rights?
To put this into perspectiv.
S4 with std k03 turbos most often tend to be in 4-5 sec range
S4 with pjk04 3-4 sec Fats
S4 with RS6 turbos 2.5 – 3 sec.
Note – it takes apx 500whp+ or 600bhp to achive 2.5sec. This is generally a very fast street cars.
Bigger turbo cars get somewhere between 2 – 2.5sec FATS.
Note – it takes apx 650-700+ whp to achive this.
These are extremelly fast cars, super car level.

Note – This is very rare. There has been couple through all these years.
NOTE – FATS must be done on a flat road and full weight car ( apx 1700kg for en S4).
RS4s weight at 1800kg+

FATS is measured with Me7 logger only!
This is not sciantific but its very good pointer of a cars torque range.
Not most Power car has the best FATS – but those that has broadest TQ range.
FATS are not meassured from speed sensor, but from flywheel sensorn.
